Is It Time To Visit Pattaya?

I have been visiting Pattaya since the 1980’s and I used to live there annually for a few months. The consensus of Bangkok expats states, while it is great to get out of The Big Mango sometimes, they can only stand a few days in Pattaya.

I still think Pleasure Playground is a great place to have fun and blow off some steam, or get something else blown off! 🙂

EVEN MODERN PATTAYA IS TRANQUIL AT THE RIGHT TIME OF DAY

My nickname for Pattaya is Pleasure Playground, with more to see and do than just go on a ‘booze cruise’ all over the city. If you don’t like big crowds of rowdy boozers, head for Jomtien Beach, which is home to quieter bars and restaurants.

HARD TO BELIEVE PATTAYA WAS ONCE JUST A TRANQUIL FISHING VILLAGE

Some guys complain about how Walking Street has become so brash and bawdy, but nobody is forced to visit. There are tons of bars and restaurants all over the city, so many that we are spoiled for choice. Research the Internet, see which venues get good reviews and search for places that suit your needs.

THE SEA FRONT ON BEACH ROAD PATTAYA

No matter how much the powers that be try to suppress the wild reputation, Pattaya is a notorious nightlife capital. It won’t change too much, or they will have to close all of the bars. Pattaya is not a destination for some guys, it’s an addiction!

Just spent 11 days there,I first visited Pattaya in 95 learned to scuba dive there and ended up helping my german friends out in their dive shop on soi 6,wow have things changed there,Had a good time and saw many young couples and middle aged couples there, and in the go go s a lot of Japanese and South Korean guys with loads of dosh to spend on the sirens,Its definitely changed and i found people very friendly there especially talking in the baht taxis the hotel I stayed in was mid ranged price wise and they were busy considering its low season,Im definitely going to spend more time there.

Pattaya is full of Chinese these days, 1,000 – 2,000 baht barfines for the best girls who ask for 5,000 baht long-time and disappear before the sun comes up. I used to love Pattaya but now I have a better night out in Bangkok. Nana and Cowboy better value unless you go low-market in the Pattaya beer bars and if you’re flying half way round the world why would do that? Pattaya good if you want the beach but for pure nightlife the tide has turned and Bangkok offers more choice and better value.
