Welcome to Bangkok nightlife! The bar scene on Soi Nana has settled back into the “Bangkok buzz” with later closing times.
Most beer bars and pubs in the Nana vicinity close at 2:00 AM sharp, with the exception of a few beer bars. But, there are some other late night options, with the popular gogo bars in Nana Plazaclosing at 3:00 AM.
There is also EQ Late Night Club, which usually stays open until at least 4:00 AM. It’s great to see Soi Nana buzzing again!
The popular fun ‘n’ frolics gogo bar Spanky’scelebrates a remarkable 8 Year Anniversary, tomorrow night in the neon jungle of Nana Plaza. Believe me, this is a great achievement for any gogo bar in Thailand, especially nowadays.
On Friday, February 10th, there will be not one, but two BBQ Roasted Pigs and a ton of fun awaits you. Doors open at 18:00 and there is a possibility that Nana Plaza will have to close at midnight, due to the Buddhist Holiday on February 11th.
My apologies to readers for such a long delay in posting and updating my website, this has been due to some personal issues including the passing of my dear old mother before Christmas. In addition, five of my friends passed away in 2016 making it my worst year on record.
Thankfully the dreadful 2016 is now behind us all and many people are feeling more optimistic about this New Year. I shall be posting a lot more regularly and updating the site, starting now!
Considered by many in Western countries to be an unlucky day, this is not true for Thais who see nothing wrong with the number 13 at all. In fact, since it’s a Friday and we’re still in high season, it’s just another reason to have a party and many bars and clubs seem to be doing just that tomorrow.
First on the list in the Nana area is EQ Late Night Club, which is holding a killer Hip Hop Night with DJ Remi and MC Boakye, giving you a blood curdling night full of HIP HOP from the past three decades 🙂 Doors open at 10:00 PM, with 99 baht Singha, Singha Light and standard mix drinks until midnight. There is also 50% off select bottles before midnight.
There are also a couple of interesting events on Patpong.
BarBar is holding a Fetish Playground Party and I am told there will be snacks served on a naked girl (sounds interesting), as well as masks and special shows. Couples are welcome. BarBar is located on Patpong soi 2.
Right next door at the Strip they are holding a Back In Black Party featuring the girl dressed in black skirts. They have a very generous 70 baht on all beers until 9:00 PM and I was at the last one they did, which was a great night, so I might drop down myself for a beer or two 🙂 Check out the lovelies in the video below…
Please do share and check in for lots more updates coming soon….
Welcome to 2017 with DaveTheRaveBangkok following a break I was forced to take due to personal reasons. Anyway, I am back and keen to get blogging again. For many of us 2016 seemed a cursed year and I am looking forward to what adventures 2017 brings us.
As many people are already well aware from midnight tonight there will be no drinking allowed in any of the bars, which carries on till Wednesday, due to the Buddhist Lent.
For non Buddhists who are screeching for a pint, there are still places serving alcohol in the Land Of Make-Believe. Most upmarket hotels are not subject to the booze ban and can still serve at their bars and on Patpong and Silom many bars, and restaurants that serve food can also serve, albeit out of paper cups, or even coffee cups!
The two day Buddhist Holiday coincides with yet another public holiday today, so for many Thais and expats, this is a five day holiday (counting the weekend), which will no doubt see a lot of people taking the opportunity to leave town. Hey, can you blame them? With girls and customers lighter on the ground, it might be a chance to catch up on old friends, finish that book you bought months ago, or try some new venues in a different part of town.
I myself will pop down to Patpong to catch up on my old friend Guido at the fantastic G’s German restaurant and will likely swing by some of the bars on Patpong including my current favorite The Strip.
Stay tuned, as I will be updating my website more regularly. Thanks for visiting!

Where are the best bars in Patpong? Whenever you visit Patpongremember that almost all of the best places to visit are located in Patpong Soi 2. This is the narrow street adjacent to Patpong 1 which has the night market.
How do I get there? If you are coming in via the BTS Skytrain, then head for BTS Sala Daeng Station. From there go out of Exit 1 and walk a short distance until you see Boots on the corner of Patpong Soi 2. Alternatively, if you are not familiar with the Silom district, you can simply ask for Foodland on Patpong Soi 2.
Don’t miss the Sexy Black Cat Party in The Strip GoGo Bar. The party has a Beer Bucket Promotion – Buy 4 Beers Get 5 or Buy 5 Beers Get 7 All Night Long!
In addition, there are hot and purring pussy cats, great music, cool vibes and free snacks. The party runs until September 19th. Enjoy!
