SOI COWBOY – LITTLE LAS VEGAS
I have visited Soi Cowboy several times in recent weeks. Despite the hype from some people, it was not that busy in the majority of go-go bars. In fact, Marc who is the manager of Dollhouse told me last night, bar trade in Soi Cowboy slowed down a lot these past few weeks. SOI COWBOY – LITTLE LAS VEGAS
Out of the three main go-go bar areas in Bangkok, Soi Cowboy remains the busiest overall. This will probably become more evident, as the rainy season approaches. The main reason is simple; the clientele in Nana Plaza and Patpong consists of an increasing number of tourists and infrequent visitors. Therefore, the number of foreign visitors drops in the rainy season, as you well know. In addition to a general decline in foreign visitors, Patpong has recently suffered further from the anti-government violence in Silom. Furthermore, Patpong and Nana Plaza have more restrictions on ‘showing’ than in Soi Cowboy. It is unfortunate for Patpong, but with Soi Cowboy being relatively unaffected by the anti-government protests, Cowboy will inevitably benefit from this situation. Soi Cowboy has become popular with resident expats for several reasons, which includes the numerous Happy Hours on offer. (more…)

BANGKOK VS PATTAYA GO-GO DANCE CONTEST
Coyotees Go-Go Bar in Soi Marine Plaza are hosting a 3-Day Party 
this weekend. The special 3-day event is scheduled on January 23rd, 24th and 25th. Note that 10 stunning Bangkok supermodels have been hired especially for a Bangkok VS Pattaya Go-Go Dance Bonanza. The 10 Bangkok supermodels are Thailand Penthouse magazine models and they will be available for ‘cash ‘n’ carry. The Go-Go Dance Contest will be held this Sunday, January 25th. I must stress that Coyotees Go-Go Dance Contests are very popular, so make sure that you get a good seat. My advice is to arrive no later than 10:00pm. Enjoy!
THE MOST POPULAR GO-GO BARS IN PATTAYA
To define what I mean by ‘popular’ for you, I have selected the go-go bars that attract the most customers and revenue. Currently, the top two go-go bars in Pattaya are Angelwitch and Happy. However, in stark contrast some go-go bars in Pattaya are really struggling. The go-go girls in Pattaya are even more nomadic than normal. Some go-go dancers and showgirls are constantly seeking greener pastures. In certain go-go bars, the dolly birds are moving around so much it makes everybody dizzy! It is supposed to be high season, but I dare say that some go-go bars in Pattaya are already facing tough times. To end on a brighter note, it is a great time to visit Pattaya. The boy-to-girl ratio is very much in the favour of the lads. Happy hunting!
AFTER DARK ASIA PUBLICATIONS
Things seem to be going quite smoothly for the After Dark Asia team. The magazines are published on time and the quality just keeps getting better. The After Dark Asia 2009 Calendar has sold very well. (By the way, the 2009 calendar is still available). Although Pattaya go-go girls dominate the 2009 calendar, it does feature Bangkok go-go girls from Bacarra in Soi Cowboy, and Angelwitch in Nana Plaza. If you think all of the HOT Thai girls are in Pattaya, you had better think again! The main reason for a lack of Bangkok go-go girls in magazines, calendars and websites, is that they don’t want to lose their ‘sponsors,’ or their mobile money machines. Bangkok bar girls are much more professional than their Pattaya sisters. Now you know!
CHINESE NEW YEAR IN PATTAYA
Soon there will be dragons roaming along Walking Street and I’m not talking about nasty old women! Don’t be alarmed because it is Chinese New Year January 26-28th. During this period in Thailand, you will see plenty of ‘Jeen-Thai’ or ethnic Chinese-Thai people celebrate the ‘Year of the Ox.’ You will also see the dragon dance accompanied by clashing symbols and other musical instruments on Walking Street this Monday, January 26th. This is a good opportunity for photographers’ seeking Asian cultural snapshots. Enjoy!
