Soi Nana Closing Times

Monday, March 13th, 2017

Welcome to Bangkok nightlife! The bar scene on Soi Nana has settled back into the “Bangkok buzz” with later closing times.

Most beer bars and pubs in the Nana vicinity close at 2:00 AM sharp, with the exception of a few beer bars. But, there are some other late night options, with the popular gogo bars in Nana Plaza closing at 3:00 AM.

There is also EQ Late Night Club, which usually stays open until at least 4:00 AM. It’s great to see Soi Nana buzzing again!

NO BOOZE AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT

Monday, July 18th, 2016

As many people are already well aware from midnight tonight there will be no drinking allowed in any of the bars, which carries on till Wednesday, due to the Buddhist Lent.

For non Buddhists who are screeching for a pint, there are still places serving alcohol in the Land Of Make-Believe.  Most upmarket hotels are not subject to the booze ban and can still serve at their bars and on Patpong and Silom many bars, and restaurants that serve food can also serve, albeit out of paper cups, or even coffee cups!

The two day Buddhist Holiday  coincides with yet another public holiday today, so for many Thais and expats, this is a five day holiday (counting the weekend), which  will no doubt see a lot of people taking the opportunity to leave town. Hey, can you blame them? With girls and customers lighter on the ground,  it might be a chance to catch up on old friends, finish that book you bought months ago, or try some new venues in a different part of town.

I myself will pop down to Patpong to catch up on  my old friend Guido at the fantastic G’s German restaurant and will likely swing by some of the bars on Patpong including my current favorite The Strip.

Stay tuned, as I will be updating my website more regularly. Thanks for visiting!

Belgian Beer And German Sausages In Soi Cowboy

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

Cactus Will Sting You! Cactus John is a crafty guy, who lures unsuspecting customers into his den of inequity. Once inside your life may never be the same again. Cactus Bar in the heart of  Soi Cowboy boasts the largest selection of Belgian Beers out of all the go-go bars in Thailand. Hey, perhaps all of Asia too. The ‘booze cruise’ is obscene, with some Belgian Beers as high as 13 percent alcohol volume. Although a great cook and host, Cactus John is indeed a sick man. As John would say, ‘This beer is 13 percent… God-damn-it!’ Cactus Bar is a renowned home-from-home for those seeking American home style cooking, classic rock and a bunch of go-go girls who are certainly not shy!
