BRAND NEW NIGHTCLUB OPENS ON SOI NANA
This week I have some exciting nightlife news for you. The disco formerly known as Angels inside Nana Hotel in Soi Nana, has reopened with the new name Nana Liquid. The new owner has certainly pumped loads of cash into the project. (more…)

AFTER DARK ASIA VOLUME 14 IS ON SALE NOW!
This week’s Thailand Tonight comprises of something completely different. I felt that I had to update some of the Pages on the right-hand Side Bar, because they have not been updated for some time. Therefore, this week I have updated the Nana Plaza Reviews Page. In addition, I have partly, (but not completely) updated the Soi Cowboy Reviews Page.

PAVEMENT PUB PATROL IN BANGKOK’S CONCRETE JUNGLE
Nowadays, taking a late night stroll down lower Sukhumvit Road is very different to what it used to be years ago. A continuous row of makeshift mobile bars set up shop after midnight along lower Sukhumvit, right on the roadside. The pavement pubs stretch from Sukhumvit Soi 3/1, right along towards Sukhumvit Soi 19. Some of the pavement pubs sell booze from around midnight until cockcrow. Most of the pavement pubs charge 80 baht for a standard drink, which is reasonable enough. However, this concrete jungle is a dodgy place, with various creatures of the night on the prowl. (more…)

SOI COWBOY - A WALK ON THE WILD WEST SIDE
Once again, I thought it was time to visit Soi Cowboy and so, I took a motorbike taxi to ‘Little Las Vegas’ as I call it. The neon signs glare at you with a kaleidoscope of colours, and you immediately become immersed into the atmosphere. Nowadays, Soi Cowboy is very different from the dark, dingy and uninspiring place that I visited over a decade ago. Perhaps it could now be known as, ‘Disneyworld for the big boys and girls.’ (more…)

A variety of stealth sleuth operations has discovered shocking evidence that there is sex-on-sale in the tourist resort of Pattaya. Several police divisions have revealed that a very serious crackdown will begin next month to catch foreign business people who are financial backers of gay bars, beer bars and go-go bars, where there is sex-on-sale in Pattaya.
Police investigations will determine who pays the bills and gets the profits. If the person is a foreigner, then their visa will be revoked and they will be expelled from Thailand. If it is a Thai, they will be arrested if sex is for sale. There is supposedly much concern about organized crime in the nightlife venues, said one official.
One Police Chief commented, ‘Where did the money come from? Who is behind it? Where does the money go?’
‘I advise anyone who has invested in a bar that might be suspected of illegal acts to clear up the problem and make sure they are not associated with any business that is engaged in illegal activities. The Thai police are taking this very seriously. Sure, in the past we have heard rumours of crackdowns, but I don’t think we have ever seen a crackdown like the one that is about to happen,’ said Drew Noyes, Managing Director of the Pattaya Times.
