Dusk Till Dawn – Bangkok Flooding Update

Bangkok Nightlife News & Flooding Update 20/11/2011

Central Bangkok Flooding – What Flooding? As I rightly predicted all along, amid all the confusion created by inaccurate media reports, downtown Bangkok was never flooded and it will remain that way. The flood waters are subsiding around the outer parts of the capital and the rain has stopped. A minority of people were critical of my Bangkok Flooding Updates, but I have proved them wrong. I report the facts from where I live, which is right in the heart of Bangkok’s pulsating nightlife on lower Sukhumvit. The Thailand floods in certain areas were very bad. In fact, they were the worst in 50 years, but this was NOT central Bangkok. However, the media maniacs scared off visitors to Thailand, even though the International Airport and central Bangkok remained unaffected. Meanwhile, Bangkok business operators are left to pick up the pieces.

Nana Plaza Will Remain The Same – Despite much speculation about the future of Nana Plaza, very positive news has emerged. The Bangkok rumour mill was churning out all kinds of crap, but NEP will remain as a red-light district. The bullshit merchants and misinformed meddlers have been proved wrong yet again! I am waiting upon final details before I reveal more about the sale of the Nana Entertainment Plaza master lease.

Daves Raves – Hey, it’s all good news for bar hoppers seeking sexy boppers!

Water Walls – I am pleased to report that Thailand’s nightlife scene is starting to gear up for the tourist season. Meanwhile, a lot of people have flocked to Pattaya to escape the central Bangkok floods that never happened. Parts of central Bangkok look like London during World War II, with sandbags pilled up and concrete ‘water walls’ erected outside shops and bars. I have to step over a concrete wall to enter the laundry shop; it’s as though they are protecting the crown jewels! Lower Sukhumvit resembles a scene from the classic British TV Show Dad’s Army… ‘Don’t Panic!’

Bangkok Bound – Stop Looking Start Booking! I suggest you find the best flight and hotel deals and fly to Thailand for some fun in the sun! It is time to escape the frosty folks in freezing Farangland and fly to Bangkok. You can probably find some really good deals at the moment, so exploit the situation. Your Thailand trip for this ‘high season’ might cost you considerably less than you predicted. What are you waiting for?

  1. Dave, Bangkok Bound is already here in Bangkok my Bangkok blogging friend. I can confirm everything you say to be true. Haven’t seen a drop of rain in the week I’ve been here. Sukhumvit is high and dry. Have been in and out of numerous Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy bars to see what’s currently hot and what’s not. I can tell you first hand that the new Billboard and the Las Vegas gogo’s are ruling supreme along with Angel Witch.
The eye candy in Billboard in particular is better than all 4 of the Rainbow bars combined. Rainbow 3 is the only one of the Rainbow bars currently worth spending time in. I’ve been in all four during the past week. Las Vegas has so many stunners that most are bar fined by 1:30. But back to Billboard, the energy level is one of a party atmosphere. No standard bar girl shuffle here and they change the lineup frequently to keep things fresh. A very fun place and I can tell you half the waitresses know me now. I’ve spent a lot of baht there in the past week. The things you have to do to get the most current info. Barfines for s/t are 2000 baht which compared to Baccara at Soi Cowboy where s/t is going for 2500 – 3000 baht then Billboard is a bargain. Besides the shower show, there’s also a lotion show and a lesbian show, the jacuzzi with 3 or 4 girls lathering up with bubbles all night is also very popular. A couple of very, very talented showgirls too. But alas I’ve been advised you can’t barfine the showgirls. Of course that won’t stop me from trying. Got to try!! Billboard is very customer focused. See a girl that you like that’s dancing on the rotating stage and you want to buy her a ladydrink and right off the stage she comes. No waiting for her to finish. Unless she’s one of the showgirls doing an act course. And if I can’t get my showgirl at Billboard the mamasan at Angel Witch has agreed to let me barfine the #1 showgirl after the acts are done at 1:30. am.

(No longer Bangkok Bound as I’m now Bangkok Partier).

  2. Billboard continues to pack a crowd, you don’t have to worry about the Japanese in any of the Rainbow bars competing with you for a honey. The Japanese and farangs have moved on to greener and more entertaining pastures and that’s Billboard onthe 3rd floor of Nana Plaza. Billboard does a great job of keeping things fresh with various shows and whats great is you don’t have to wait until 11 pm. They keep it fresh starting at 9 pm at least.

Current barfine scorecard: 5 girls from Billboard, (4 from the rotating stage and 1 from the jacuzzi tub) 2 lesbian girls from Shebas (and one of those does the ping pong show), 2 girls from Shark bar, 1 girl from Rainbow III, 1 girl from Las Vegas, 1 girl from Long Gun, 1 girl from After Skool. But now I’m working on every gogo bar guys ultimate quest and that’s to leave the gogo with the star of the bar. The number #1 showgirl in Angelwitch and the number #1 showgirl in Billboard. (Yeah, I know, I’m being greedy.) Have already talked to both to lay the groundwork. Sure, it will cost a lot of baht but if you saw the way these showgirls can move on a stage you’d know why I’ve got to try.

  3. Craig says:

Bangkokpartier–your reports very entertaining but I think you need to get your terms right. If you are paying a “barfine” of 2000 baht and more, then your insane! I think your talking about the girl’s negotiated fee for her time –NOT THE BARFINE. The bar fine at gogo’s is generally around 600 baht and defined as what you pay the bar/gogo for taking the girl out prior to end of shift. Other than that I admire your tally and goals for this trip. I was there from Holloween until 12th and had a great time in Angelwitch and Las Vegas also. Angelwitch had some incredible shows over Holloween. And Las Vegas some very fine and young talent. I ran into this fashion model type my last 4 days at Red Sky bar and spent the whole 4 days with her. Was supposed to get back with a very fine girl in Angelwitch–alas–I didn’t make it. Play safe and have fun.

  4. Yes, you are correct Craig, The barfines are 600 baht. My apologies. After being up partying to 6 or 7 am each night and then only getting 2 to 4 hours sleep, the vision and head is a bit blurry as I post these updates. (There is only so much Red Bull can do for you each day). The barfine is 600 baht and the s/t is 2,000 baht except for Baccara where the girls are currently asking 2,500 – 3,000 s/t and don’t want to negotiate.

Have bar fined so many hotties, that now I’ve run out of new talent and am going back for seconds with the best of the best at Billboard, Las Vegas, Shark and Shebas. Flying home in a few days. I will be updating my own blog that you can reach from bangkokafterhours.com in much more detail once I’m home and am not stuck using an Internet cafe pc where half the keys stick. So be sure to check it out starting around the middle of next week. I’ve been keeping a daily journal and have about a months worth of material to write about.

Note: I have a very entertaining story to post on my blog involving a ping pong showgirl from Shebas in Soi Cowboy, my hotel room and one ping pong ball the mamasan was kind enough to loan me for the evening. It will have to wait until I’m back home and can catch up on some sleep from the all night partying and the 30 hour flight home.

  5. Hi Bangkok Partier & Craig, thanks for your comments. I’m pleased to see some keen party guys who really enjoy the Bangkok nightlife scene to the full. Cheers!

  6. When I arrived 2 weeks ago bottled water was sometimes sold out in the 7/11’s on Sukhumvit and selling for 29 baht. As of yesterday at least the bottled water supply is once again plentiful and the price back to the normal 7 to 10 baht range. About to pack the suitcase for the grueling flights back home. Will be back again next year.
