Today I feature a special event from Spanky’s Go-Go Bar which celebrates an important anniversary.
After successfully completing a decade, Spanky’s Bar celebrates its 11 Year Anniversary. The Big Birthday Bash is this coming Tuesday, February 11th 2020 in the world-famous Nana Plaza.
It is guaranteed to be a night of celebration, with Tricky Nicky giving away Jagger Bombs! All the Spanky’s gogo girls and showgirls, ensure you will have a night to remember.
These days it is a milestone to achieve anything up to 5 successful years, let alone 11 years. Congratulations to Bangkok’s best gogo ‘n’ show bar and may the fun ‘n’ frolics continue!
Daves Raves – My publishing schedule is Sundays, Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Here is a YouTube Video to show you how the scene looks in Soi Cowboy. It is a new video filmed last month (September 2018).
Notice that there is a lot of walking, talking and looking but not a great deal of drinking and spending. This is the reality of Soi Cowboy nowadays.
The stereotypical tourists have absolutely no intention of entering any of the go-go bars in Soi Cowboy. They just want to tell people they walked through a naughty nightlife area in Bangkok. They can proclaim with great delight, “We actually saw it!”
The Little Las Vegas is more of a visual attraction to the hoards of window shopping, selfie-taking, casual strolling people. In this respect, Soi Cowboy resembles a smaller version of Walking Street in Pattaya.
The vibrant neon lights, food stalls, outside beer bars and the ‘cheerleaders’ on the street, add to the atmosphere.
The Sukhumvit Asok area is a hub of activity for tourists and expats alike. Terminal 21 is located only a short walk from Soi Cowboy and Sukhumvit Soi 23. Bangkok Nightlife 2018. This is a top 10 list of the hotels you can find on Sukhumvit Soi 4 in Bangkok – home of the infamous Nana Plaza. The list has been compiled based on the user ratings from the Agoda hotel booking site. These user ratings have been weighted according to how many reviews have gone into them.
WELCOME TO THE NEON JUNGLE – WALKING STREET PATTAYA
Will Pattaya Become Family-Friendly?
Sometimes, we can get rather confused as to what Pattaya City is really like after nightfall. We are told by Thai media that Pattaya is becoming a family-friendly seaside resort. Well, it’s certainly not Butlin’s Holiday Camp!
Meanwhile, the Western media enjoy writing sensationalized tabloid news reports that fuel the fire by infuriating the Thai government.
Therefore, today I present recent video footage entitled, “Pattaya Night Scenes” produced by prolific videographer Bangkok 112
Here you can see the Pattaya nightlife scene and judge for yourself…

The scene is set at Sapphire Club for the latest ‘Kiss The Kreme’ contestant. This high definition video below features the super sexy Ging.
This sizzling hot babe has come to bed eyes, luscious lips, long silky hair and a body with the curves in all the right places. Yep, she is a hottie!
In addition to her attractive appearance, one of Sapphire’s finest sensual seducers was keen to show off her special skills. Without further ado here’s Gorgeous Ging!
Sapphire Club has some of the most beautiful and friendly gals in the entertainment business! Who wouldn’t want to watch them devour a frothy cocktail in slo motion?
Whether you are a seasoned traveller or a newcomer to Thailand, you may well find yourself visiting Pleasure Playground, otherwise known as Pattaya.
Renowned in those vibrant, glossy travel brochures for its sun, sea and sand, Pattaya City is notoriously known for a very different ‘s’ which has been prolifically reported by numerous media sources. The sordid side of Pattaya continues to be roasted to cinders by foreign reporters. They act as though it is a new discovery.
However, despite all the pretentious window dressing by those who must be obeyed (nudge, nudge, wink, wink), this once tranquil fishing village still seeks a very different type of catch nowadays. Walking Street remains the equivalent version of Bangkok’s Patpong or London’s Soho.
Enjoy an after dark view of the Gawking, Hawking, Stalking, Walking Street!

Street vendors operating in Khao San Road have been instructed to clear the sidewalks down this popular and trendy tourist area.
This is following a recent meeting with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The street vendors were told to move their stalls from the sidewalk onto the road for a period of one week. The trial commences on September 12th.
The concept is proposed to satisfy everybody and BMA District Chef Wutichai Bunyasit said, “We want to return all footpaths to the people.”
Daves Raves – I think this is a sensible solution, so let’s hope it happens.
Khaosan Road After Midnight – Full Walk – July 2016 Sights and Sounds from a busy night on the streets around Khaosan road. Filmed in July 2016. Notes: At 3:15 you can see Susie Wong beers and buns. Unbelievably, this was Bangkok’s number one place for food out of over 9000 on Tripadvisor in July 2016.
Although I don’t like sounding negative, it has been yet another quiet month for many bar bosses around Bangkok and from what I have seen myself and heard from my “ravers” things haven’t been much better in Pattaya either. To add fuel to the fire, there is more heat on the gogo bars from the MIB (Men In Brown), this is especially the case down in Sin City.
Where did all the big spenders go? This seems to be a question many bar owners are asking themselves. Do we sing Simply Red’s “Money’s Too Tight To Mention” as an appropriate phrase?! The clot plot thickens, as a number of folks find themselves with less and less disposable income.
When I ran Angelwitch GoGo Barseveral years ago, we regularly had customers running up chunky bills, without even batting a eyelid. These days it seems people are much more careful about spending their money and are also looking for better bang-for-baht. Which begs the question; are gogo bars still offering good value for money? The dreaded coyote curse (agency dancers) has upset many a sexpat, with a number of bars and especially, bar girls pricing themselves out of the market. In fact, as an example of this, the Stumble Inn Group have already steered themselves in the direction of the more profitable beer bars.
However, as a former bar manager, I have witnessed a considerable drop in the “spender gender” with the cash-constipated clan, trying to make you believe they are down to their last dollar. I say this in defense of the bars. The times I have seen a major debate (as though it’s a life, or death decision), whether they should order a drink, or not. These frugal folks need to be reminded that these are bars and not museums. There are a number of time-wasters out there. Another point is you can’t blame the bars for everything, which includes certain piss poor foreign currencies that struggle against a strong Thai baht.
My mate Toby was at a Bangkok gogo bar the other night and it was very quiet. There was just a few girls doing the skytrain shuffle on stage, staring into oblivion. Toby had a couple of Johnnie Walker Black’s and bought one gogo girl a lady drink — the bill was already 1,000 baht. I would advise you to ask what the drink prices are before you get stung!
Besides Thailand, is this becoming a universal problem? Back in Britain, the pubs and clubs are closing at an alarming rate, because people just can’t afford to drink in pubs and clubs anymore. If they want to sink some amber nectar, they often buy cheap booze from Supermarkets and drink at home. All of the nightclubs in my home town are closed down and people are forced to travel miles to enjoy clubland.
Meanwhile, back in Bangkok! There’s another part of this vast, sprawling metropolis that is booming. Welcome to clubland! I mention this, because this week the mega popular Insanity Nightclub is moving to Sukhumvit, Soi 11, which has become clubbers central. This “Insanity Gravity” will only strengthen Soi 11 as the main club hub in this inimitable city.
I have not seen the inside of Insanity Nightclub yet (located next to the former Q Bar), but I do know a ton of money has been spent on making it state of the art. Before I forget, the Opening Night this Thursday, June 29th.
It seems money is definitely rolling into the clubs and this seems to be a BIG shift from many moons ago, when clubs were very limited in Bangkok. I remember Thailand in the 1980’s with two of the most famous being Marine Disco in Pattaya and Angels Disco (Nana Hotel), which is now EQ Late Night Club. Things have really come a long way and this is indeed a very positive aspect of Bangkok’s nightlife.
The Castle Fetish Club in Pattaya opens a men only fetish club on July 1st. It is located next door and it is called Sodom. When you go there just make sure you go through the right door, or you might be in for a bit of surprise. Sounds like a good prank for a stag night to me :-)
Mercury GoGo Bar (Middle Floor Nana Plaza) is undergoing renovations. It turns a shade of pink on July 1st, as it reopens as Mercury Ladyboy Bar.
Well it’s been one hell of a week! Which culminated with my entire website going on the Fritz on Friday night. Some frantic calls to the hosting provider and a few other people, and we managed to get the old girl back up again.
In this day an age, websites need updating technically, as well as regular content being posted. I am not a technical guy I just know the basics. But, me and the old girl have been through so much together since 2006 and I would be mortified if anything happened to my ole bird! 🙂
THE ALL NEW HILLARY 1 BAR (RAJAH COMPLEX SOI NANA)
Anyway, I remember years ago in England, when I was a nightclub doorman, this massive Bentley rolled up one day. My mate nudged me and said, ‘Here that’s Sheikh Yamani,’ and I replied a bit too loud, ‘Shake your what?’
Well it happened it again the other day when Joe was telling me about the new event he has planned for the end of May at the Black Pagoda, which is called ‘Cover Your Stones’ and I blurted out, ‘Cover your what?’
The event Joe was telling me about should be good because it’s two of Bangkok’s most famous cover bands; theBangkok Beatles and Sticky Fingers, going head-to-head at the Black Pagoda.
I am looking forward to this, as I have seen the Sticky Fingers at Clubhouse Sports Bar and I have to say they are very good. I love The Rolling Stones songs and this promises to be a great night. The video of the last live music event they did at the Black Pagoda looks like it went very well.
For anyone interested in this event it’s on Saturday 27th March from 9:00 PM at the Black Pagoda, Patpong 2 – tickets can be purchased on the day, or in advance on Oneplace. You can also join the Facebook event
There were a couple of big events over the past week, one was the 4 Year Anniversary at Insanity Nightclub. That was on Thursday and I had every intention of going, but I got totally waylaid at the other event, which was the opening of the new Hillary 1 at Rajah Complex on Soi Nana.
Although I was not there my good mate Toby was about and he said it was a great night at Insanity Nightclub. But, I doubt if he can remember all of it. Toby did manage to capture this video footage, which looks like he had slightly more interesting evening than me at Hillary’s. However, I have to say I was very impressed with the new venue and the refurbishment job is superb. Mind you, I thoroughly enjoyed the eye candy of several red hot promo dolly birds. There were some interesting guests, including some of the bar owners from Nana Plaza.
My apologies to readers for such a long delay in posting and updating my website, this has been due to some personal issues including the passing of my dear old mother before Christmas. In addition, five of my friends passed away in 2016 making it my worst year on record.
Thankfully the dreadful 2016 is now behind us all and many people are feeling more optimistic about this New Year. I shall be posting a lot more regularly and updating the site, starting now!
FRIDAY 13th.
Considered by many in Western countries to be an unlucky day, this is not true for Thais who see nothing wrong with the number 13 at all. In fact, since it’s a Friday and we’re still in high season, it’s just another reason to have a party and many bars and clubs seem to be doing just that tomorrow.
First on the list in the Nana area is EQ Late Night Club, which is holding a killer Hip Hop Night with DJ Remi and MC Boakye, giving you a blood curdling night full of HIP HOP from the past three decades 🙂
Doors open at 10:00 PM, with 99 baht Singha, Singha Light and standard mix drinks until midnight. There is also 50% off select bottles before midnight.
There are also a couple of interesting events on Patpong.
BarBar is holding a Fetish Playground Party and I am told there will be snacks served on a naked girl (sounds interesting), as well as masks and special shows. Couples are welcome. BarBar is located on Patpong soi 2.
Right next door at the Strip they are holding a Back In Black Party featuring the girl dressed in black skirts. They have a very generous 70 baht on all beers until 9:00 PM and I was at the last one they did, which was a great night, so I might drop down myself for a beer or two 🙂 Check out the lovelies in the video below…
Please do share and check in for lots more updates coming soon….
It’s time to celebrate Thai New Year and that means Songkran Madness!

Billboard GoGo Bar are hosting a Valentine’s Party on Thursday, February 27th.
Due to Nana Plaza being closed on Valentine’s Day, the party date had to be changed, but there is good news, as Billboard are still throwing a party.
There will be sexy Valentine’s themed shows, a Lucky Draw for 3 big bottles of Bacardi Rum and you can show your love by putting heart stickers onto your favourite girls. This promises to be a great party, so do not miss this one!
Today I feature a fantastic YouTube video that was produced by my friend Adam. The Pole Angelswill mesmerize you with their aesthetic acrobatic displays of sheer brilliance. They do not call it Amazing Thailand for nothing!
