The New Living Dolls A-Go-Go

Friday, September 2nd, 2022

Did you know this? Living Dolls A-Go-Go is the longest-running go-go bar on Walking Street in Pattaya City. Although it is the grandad of Walking Street gogo bars, it is a brand spanking new venue with a complete interior renovation job.

Living Dolls is located at the far end of Walking Street from the Beach Road entrance. Believe me, it is well worth the trek up there.

There is a new tantalizing troop of gogo dancers along with new management. In addition, the dolly birds are eager to tease ‘n’ please you.

The girls aren’t farm fresh, but there’s no substitute for sexperience!

Darwinism For Dummies

The gogo bar business in Bangkok and Pattaya is certainly not rocket science, but the poor performing pleasure palaces might make you believe otherwise. Without sounding too simplistic in my analysis, the strong remain strong and the weak remain weak. To be blatantly blunt, this is Darwinism for dummies!

You cannot just say the gogo bars are DEAD because some venues remain very popular. Certain factors will determine the survival of Thailand’s pleasure palaces. Recently, I have been reflecting upon the situation in the gogo bars…

Amid the animal kingdom, it is survival of the fittest, as Charles Darwin so aptly outlined in his theory of evolution. In the modern world of the neon jungle, the same theory applies. If you are not strong, healthy and equipped with the spirit of a warrior, you will be eaten alive in the neon jungle.

The gogo bar industry has become considerably more mercenary nowadays and to a large degree, it is a dog-eat-dog environment. Part of the mercenary attitudes of the bargirls is due to fighting for survival, but in other cases, it boils down to pure greed.

However, for various reasons the gogo bar business faces an uphill battle. Higher running costs lead to higher prices, pressure leads to mercenary attitudes, which then leads to less profit. This ‘business chemistry’ causes a chain reaction and we are certainly seeing more empty seats in numerous gogo bars these days. The golden era of gogo bars is long gone but a few pleasure palaces still do a roaring trade.

The two most popular gogo bars in Pattaya are Sapphire Club and Pin-Up GoGo Bar. These two are the elite gogo bars of Pattaya and definitely in a different league to most of their competitors. One major factor I have noticed is a big drop in attractive gogo dancers, especially those in their birthday suits. It is just too easy to meet Fat Pat or Plain Jane!

Modern technology has played a major part in making recruitment very challenging because so many attractive Thai women are available online. Hot Thai girls are available on various platforms such as escort agencies, dating websites and social media. Thailand has among the most Facebook profiles (per population) in the world.

Daves Raves – When I ran gogo bars in Nana Plaza Bangkok, I always stood by ‘quality’ rather than ‘quantity’ and that would be my advice to gogo bar bosses. Just like Zen Minimalism less is indeed more!

Super SaverPandoras GoGo Bar located in Soi LK Metro has a great bang-for-baht Happy Hour. Bottled Beers are just 55 baht from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. The selection consists of nicely chilled bottles of Chang, Leo, Singha and Tiger. Thailand is not expensive if you know where to go. Do not listen to the killjoys, listen to the GoGo Guru!

Happy Holidays! Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Many thanks for visiting this year and a BIG thank you to the guys who followed me since 2006 when I launched this website. 2020 will be the 14th year of this website and I am very proud of this achievement. Cheers!

Dollhouse Pattaya Opens VIP Lounge

Wednesday, September 20th, 2017

The Dollhouse Go-Go Bar down in Sin City, otherwise known as Pattaya are opening a XXX Vip Lounge. The concept is based upon agogo meets gentlemen’s club, all rolled into one. Knowing these guys there will be a few surprises too.

This Friday, September 22nd is the Soft Opening of the XXX VIP Lounge, which promises to provide plenty of pampering and pleasure! This is a format the Thailand’s nightlife scene should have adopted many years ago.

The concept is to combine the best of East and West, with the raunchy bump ‘n’ grind of Thai gogo dancers and the Western strip club format. The modern day gentlemen’s clubs partly do this, but certainly not entirely.

Daves Raves – I wish The Dollhouse all the best for endeavouring to introduce something fresh to the gogo bar scene in Pattaya.

The Dollhouse is located down Soi 15 Walking Street.

Spending Money For Pattaya

How Much Is Enough?

Here’s the scenario… You are planning a trip to Pattaya City, but you don’t know how much spending money you will need.

Help is at hand, as the guys at Pattaya One News came up with the answer.

Some guys tell us that Pattaya is getting expensive, while others say it remains great bang-for-baht (pun intended). What is the truth?

Is It Time To Visit Pattaya?

Monday, August 28th, 2017

I have been visiting Pattaya since the 1980’s and I used to live there annually for a few months. The consensus of Bangkok expats states, while it is great to get out of The Big Mango sometimes, they can only stand a few days in Pattaya.

I still think Pattaya is a great place to have fun and blow off some steam, or get something else blown off! 🙂

My nickname for Pattaya is Pleasure Playground, with more to see and do than just go on a ‘booze cruise’ all over the city. If you don’t like big crowds of rowdy boozers, head for Jomtien Beach, which is home to quieter bars and restaurants.

Some guys complain about how Walking Street has become so brash and bawdy, but nobody is forced to visit. There are tons of bars and restaurants all over the city, so many that we are spoiled for choice. Research the Internet, see which venues get good reviews and search for places that suit your needs.

No matter how much the powers that be try to suppress the wild reputation, Pattaya is a notorious nightlife capital. It won’t change too much, or they will have to close all of the bars. Pattaya is not a destination for some guys, it’s an addiction!

Baht Buster British Breakfast

Brief History Of Thailand’s Farang Food

When I first came to Thailand way back in the 1980’s (yes I feel old!), the farang food menu in Pattaya bars, comprised of very little. Some bars served no more than a Ham And Cheese Toastie, which ideally is only a snack. After eating too much native food, my poor stomach got all Thai-ed up. Well, at least the Toasted Sandwich Maker was invented to satisfy some of our needs.

Okay, you could get an American Breakfast in some places, but it was not a real cooked breakfast, especially like us Brits are so accustomed to eating. It was a jazzed up Continental Breakfast at best.

These were served with cheap cooked ham, rubbery hot dogs, sweet scrambled eggs (due too much cream), jam with barely toasted bread and tea that was like nats piss! Some Thai chefs thought it cool to add some Thai food. This sort of made it a Thainglish Breakfast. A few of these added ingredients would be sacrilege to a proper chef. The Michelin Star Award-Winning Master Chef Gordon Ramsey, would blow his top if he saw what they served in those days.

These so called ‘brekkies’ can only be explained as a Thai version of a ‘cooked’ breakfast. It was cheap and cheerful. You ate it, because there were very few choices of Western food in those days. Incidentally, there were suspicious cans of Guinness available that were brewed in Thailand. Naive Americans were the only guys drinking it. Meanwhile, us Brits were giggling, as it tasted like drain cleaner.

Oh boy, how all of this has changed nowadays. With the emergence of theme pubs and a lot of them being British pubs, comes a quantity of quality. Both Bangkok and Pattaya boast some excellent establishments. So much so, you are almost spoiled for choice down Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok.

Due to rising competition over the years, the good pubs try hard to provide the best meals. The food is cooked by qualified chefs who use quality, authentic ingredients. The tide has turned and it’s very much for the better.

This leads me to mention the Baht Buster British Breakfast served daily (09:00-01:00) at Stumble In Bar located on Soi Nana. It’s great bang-for-baht at just 199฿ net and it is made with quality ingredients.
